Sophia Dunkley, Tash Farrant, and Ryana MacDonald-Gay have been called up to the ECB Development XI that will take on Pakistan in a 50-over match at Northampton on May 21.

The South East Stars trio have had an impressive start to their 2024 season. Dunkley is leading the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Trophy batting charts with 293 runs at an average of 97.66 and Farrant is not far behind her teammate with a tally of 243 runs, which includes three half-centuries.

Seamer MacDonald-Gay is the competition’s second-highest wicket-taker, having picked up 12 scalps from four outings.

Northern Diamonds’ Hollie Armitage captains the group while England performance batting coach Jon Lewis will lead the team as head coach.

Bess Heath and Freya Kemp join the group at the conclusion of their commitments with England Women’s T20 squad while Sunrisers’ Grace Scrivens, who captained England A’s 50-over side in their tour to New Zealand earlier this year is also selected.

The warm-up fixture will act as important preparation for Pakistan ahead of their upcoming Metro Bank ODI series against Heather Knight’s England and an important match experience for those selected.

The match takes place at the County Ground, Northamptonshire CCC on Tuesday 21 May, with play starting at 11am.

The game is not open to the public. Supporters will be able to watch a live stream on ECB.co.uk
